Is Poetry Purpose?
There is a lot of talk about having a purpose, something grand and something people possibly admire about you. What if the best purpose is to live a good life full of small things?
Can Feelings Ever Achieve Closure?
It occurs to me that ‘closure’ has become a very modern expectation; when a job or a relationship ends, someone’s death or a bad experience of some kind. Some kind of imagined right has hooked itself into our brains that we should have total resolution and a suitable answer that matches our (correct) understanding of the situation. I see this as an extension of the social media led ‘feelings take priority over facts’.
New Beginnings
In some ways I will be sad to leave my cottage as it was my first time living alone as an adult, apart from a brief period when I was in my mid-forties; this time I enjoyed it so much especially as I was close to that hub of creativity called Woodbridge, Suffolk.
