Fiction and Poetry Drawn From Life
Leann’s fiction and poetry draw on a lifetime of journals, travel, and lived experience. Having worked across America and Europe before settling on the Suffolk coast, she writes with sharp observation about the moments that shape us.
Welcome to the Leann Kent Writes website
Leann is a writer of fiction and poetry based on her experiences, both real and imagined. Having kept a journal for most of her life, she now writes about how her experiences affected her and the changes they made.
During a long and busy life in the corporate world, much of this was subsumed but tempered by her early concerns that she would be the next Elizabeth Taylor (having been divorced twice by the time she was 25). She is now single and childless – by choice.
Having lived and worked abroad in America, Germany, Ireland and Italy, she found herself transferred to Suffolk when she took a job whose head office was based there. It was a revelation as the Suffolk Coast felt like home. On the death of her paternal grandmother, she discovered that it was home, as her great-grandparents had lived and worked locally on the land.
Working freelance early on for trade magazines and publications, her technical knowledge has now given way to studies of her partner and two dogs for her writing. Luckily the household is fully neurodiverse and she has a devoted carer and dog walker for the diminishment of her sight and hearing.
