About Leann

For some reason, I felt that if only I were naturally good at something, my life would make sense; some would call this a ‘purpose’, and I recently wrote about this.

Is Poetry Purpose?
Is there purpose in writing poetry?
I am supposed to have one,
Purpose that is.
But I have had it - and given it up.
Purpose seems to be all about
What you can do for others.
No offers of reciprocation
So I have given it up.
Poetry gives me back my voice
Not the careful, sensitive one,
The looking after others emotions one.
I have given that up.
Rage, ignorance, closed to debate.
The tenuous conversation pathway
Of being offended on others behalf.
We should all give it up.

For most of my life, I have been adventurous and always willing to try new things in order to find that elusive natural gift. As is its nature, I am still searching but meanwhile giving space to my thoughts whilst I wrestle with my first book.
